Who We Are

American Allied Health is a veteran-owned, licensed home care agency based in Columbia, South Carolina. We provide non-medical in-home care — personal care, memory care, respite, companionship, and pediatric services — to families across the Midlands who want their loved ones to stay safely at home.

We're licensed by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (License IHCP-2464) and enrolled as a South Carolina Medicaid Community Long Term Care provider. Our office is at 3800 Forest Drive in Columbia, and our caregivers live in the same communities as the families they serve.

Being veteran-owned shapes how we operate day to day: show up when you said you would, follow the plan, communicate clearly, and treat the people in your care the way you'd want your own family treated. We built this agency around that standard, and it's the same standard every caregiver on our team is trained and supervised to.

Why Families Choose American Allied Health

Licensed & Accountable

SC DHEC License IHCP-2464. Our caregivers are employees — background-checked, trained, supervised, insured, and covered by workers' compensation. Not contractors from an app.

Genuinely Local

We're not a national franchise routing your call to a center three states away. Our office is on Forest Drive, our coordinators do in-person supervision visits, and we can respond quickly when plans change.

Medicaid-Enrolled

As an enrolled CLTC provider we bill Medicaid directly and handle authorizations with your case manager — so families aren't left navigating the system alone.

Family Caregivers Welcome

We employ and pay qualifying family members through Medicaid caregiver programs, because sometimes the best caregiver is the one already doing the job for free.

Flexible, Not Formulaic

Care plans start where you need them — a few hours a week or around the clock — and change as needs change. No long-term contracts.

Veteran-Owned

Discipline, reliability, and respect aren't slogans here. They're how a veteran-owned agency shows up for the families counting on it.

How We Hire Caregivers

The caregiver in your home is the service. Everything else — scheduling, billing, care plans — exists to support that one relationship. So we take hiring seriously:

  • Background checks on every caregiver, without exception
  • Training that meets or exceeds South Carolina home care requirements, including specialized dementia and pediatric preparation for caregivers assigned to those clients
  • Ongoing supervision — our coordinators conduct check-ins rather than sending someone out and hoping
  • Careful matching on care needs, schedule, and personality, with the ability to request a different caregiver at any time
  • Consistency — we assign the same caregiver to recurring schedules whenever possible, because trust takes time and dementia clients especially need familiar faces

Our Service Area

We serve six South Carolina counties from our Columbia office: Richland, Lexington, Kershaw, Fairfield, Sumter, and Lee — including rural addresses that other agencies won't drive to. See our full service area for every community we cover.

Come Talk to Us
